Counterflow ignition and extinction of FACE gasoline fuels

چکیده

The demand for petroleum-derived gasoline in the transportation sector is on rise. For better knowledge of combustion practical systems, this study presents experimental measurements and numerical prediction autoignition temperatures extinction limits six FACE (fuels advanced engines) fuels counterflow flames. Extinction were measured at atmospheric pressures while experiments carried out high pressures. pressure experiment, fuel stream consists pre-vaporized diluted with nitrogen, a condensed configuration used ignition experiment higher chamber oxidizer pure air. Autoignition tested are nearly same pressure, huge difference observed as increased. Unlike pressures, minor exists fuels. Simulations using recently developed surrogate model. Both multi-component n-heptane/isooctane mixtures surrogates simulations. Overall, consistently more reactive compared mixtures. Transport weighted enthalpy radical index analysis was to explain differences strain rates various

Performance and Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engine Fuelled with Ethanol and Methanol Gasoline Blended Fuels

Depletion of fossil fuels and environmental pollution has led researchers to anticipate the need to develop bio-fuels. Alcohols are an important category of bio-fuels. Methanol can be produced from coal, biomass or even natural gas with acceptable energy cost. Also, gasification of biomass can lead to methanol, mixed alcohols, and Fischer–Tropsch liquids (Chum and Overend, 2001). Ethanol is pro...

Low-Temperature Combustion of High Octane Fuels in a Gasoline Compression Ignition Engine

Gasoline compression ignition (GCI) has been shown as one of the advanced combustion concepts that could potentially provide a pathway to achieve cleaner and more efficient combustion engines. Fuel and air in GCI are not fully premixed compared to homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI), which is a completely kinetic-controlled combustion system. Therefore, the combustion phasing can be ...

Oxidation and Ignition Characteristics of Hydrocarbon Fuels

A research program studying the oxidation and ignition characteristics of hydrocarbon fuels has been conducted. The program was initiated in October 1985 with the awarding of a research grant through the Army Research Office (Grant No. DAAG 29-85-K-0253, Project No. 22437-EG) and ran through November 1989. The research program entailed mechanistic studies examining the oxidation chemistry of si...

Study of the performance in dual fuels 50% gasoline -50% NG and single original fuels and comparison in part load

One of the most efficient methods to reduce emissions and fuel costs of SI engines in petrol case, is the use of combined gasoline and NG. The ability of an engine is usually expressed with maximum power and maximum torque output of full-load state, but the operating time of the engines with full-load is less than that of part-load time. Therefore, studying the performance of the engine with a ...

A Study of Fuel Impingement Analysis on In- Cylinder Surfaces in a Direct-Injection Spark- Ignition Engine with Gasoline and Ethanol-Gasoline Blended Fuels

An experimental study is performed to investigate the fuel impingement on cylinder walls and piston top inside a directinjection spark-ignition engine with optical access to the cylinder. Three different fuels, namely, E85, E50 and gasoline are used in this work. E85 represents a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline by volume. Experiments are performed at different load condition...
